Sketches and study

Some finished sketches i've been having fun with. Been really inspired by the A Song of Ice and Fire book series, and the Game of Thrones show.  Also a recent study from a photo.

Old Work

Here are a few pieces from a project I worked on that later got canceled. These were done anywhere from 2-3 years ago. these are a few that I didn't absolutely hate.

Japan Tsunami Relief

The good people at cfsl.net are organizing a japan tsunami relief effort http://cfsl.net/tsunami/ , by having artists submit artwork for either the originals to be sold, make a book publication or organize exhibitions, all profits will be donated to Give2Asia.  I found this through sparths blog, and wanted to add my own modest contribution. Being part Japanese myself, I really want to do anything I can to help. Please help donate to the RedCross or any other tsunami relief effort. Every bit helps.

Samurai

Another quick one, trying out different techniques and brushes. was inspired after watching Maciej Kuciara's video. the guy is good! I'm trying to better understand color, value and temperature, and try not to get too tight with the details. After doing tight detailed work all day, it's nice to keep it looser at home.  Its a constant battle but I feel I learn something new each time. Need to do more studies!

the night shift

I neglect this blog too much, anyway, a lot has happened since my last post. I moved to Atlanta to work for CCP North America and loving it. I bought an intuos 4 last night, to retire my intuos3. Did some personal painting to break it in. I will be posting more.

Plus here's a lunch sketch, trying to get back into it as a daily thing:
